If you ask us if you can bring your dog to your wedding our answer will ALWAYS be YES. Your four-legged friends MAKE our day and they make yours too! They are a part of your family and having them there brings so much joy to the guests, to us, but more importantly to you.
Every inch was planned to a tee. Every seat reservation sign had Charlotte.& Michael’s initials in a little sign designed by the bride and groom. The couple even had a bone sign saying “My Humans Are Married” and the date of their wedding to hang up during the ceremony.
Dan was over with Michael and the boys, who were relatively calm and collected. Donned in their finest navy blue suits, the party were chilling at the rooms of Bassmead Manor Barns, before heading off to the venue to get Michael married.
We’re all about the little details and Sarah captures these perfectly. Once inside, she got a quick snap of these details for Charlotte including her garter, her cream pleated shoes, her Olivia Burton necklace, her ring and her signature perfume for the day; Miss Dior. We’ve never seen a personalised wedding clutch bag, but we had after today. Charlotte’s cream clutch had C <3 M on the front of it; a lovely little touch that not many would see, but Charlotte knew would be there with her for the entire day.
Each member of the bridal party had a little gift box tied up neatly in a green bow containing a white clutch bag and disposable camera ready to take snaps of their own on the day.
Over to Dan and the boys and Michael was reading a card from his wife to be. This included a little surprise from Charlotte which was a hand written note that Michael had written years previous that said…Charlotte, I know you want to take it slow but…will you be my girlfriend? Signed off with Michael and some hearts and kisses! She had kept it all this time and it was such a special moment to be able to capture this moment for Charlotte to witness after their big day.
Sausage dog cuff links at the ready and the boys were all sorted and raring to go. Just a few moments for some quick group snaps of the groom’s party and we were off to the venue.
Over with Charlotte, it was time for the finishing touches including putting on the dress of dreams. Charlotte remained calm amongst her powerhouse friends and even kept it together (just about) when reading a card from her husband-to-be.
Sarah called the girls for a quick group shot in their dressing gowns, slippers and crocs before heading back inside to get ready.
The bridesmaids were in stunning, turquoise dresses in a variety of stlyes and Charlotte went for a long, flowing lacey dress complete with long, flowing veil. She looked stunning and we couldn’t wait for Michael to see her in all of her wedding glory!
And neither could her Dad. He popped in to see Charlotte before heading across to the venue. We saw (and captured) a few tears and some truly lovely moments between the two.
Time to get wed! One by one the bridesmaids walked down the aisle and the nerves had truly kicked in for Michael by now. Charlotte and her father were the last in and there were plenty of tears from all as they met at the alter.
We witnessed a truly lovely ceremony including a lovely singer Cara Beard to sing a lovely tune whilst the legal paperwork was happening.
Time to kiss the bride! We wandered outside to get some candid snaps of the couple and give them a moment to soak in all the lovely newlywed bliss.
The traditional confetti line next, but this time with a twist as their gorgeous sausage dog was at the top of the line ready to greet them and boy, did it steal the show!
We had, what felt like, an hour’s photoshoot with the team and mainly of their dog (who could blame it and how could we resist?!) and then it was time to listen to some tunes from Cara, play some mini golf (epic idea) and then get the bridal gang together for some wicked group shots. We love group shots and think they are imperative for the day, but we also like to have some fun whilst we’re at it. This is why you hire us – we bring the FUN! You can read all about our approach here.
We got the shots we were after (and more!) and then took Charlotte & Michael away again to get some stunning images of the two walking the grounds of Bassmead Manor.
The wind picked up in time to catch Charlotte’s veil and it was truly like we were all floating in their happiness – their energy was infectious!
Time to head inside andA MOMENT FOR THE CAKE LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. We have NEVER seen anything quite like it! If you’re looking for cake inspo, then this is it! A four tiered, long and narrow cake that was suspended from the ceiling! Yes, that’s right, it was a handing cake. The top three layers were covered in gold glitter and the bottom tier was white with a little bit of glitter hanging down. The base of the cake was covered in
The speeches were electric, the dancing and chair lifting (don’t ask) was hilarious and we had such a great time being a part of Charlotte & Michael’s big day.
And the fun didn’t stop there – the sun was beaming so we took the couple back outside for their final moments before our departure. Charlotte was donning her white heart sunglasses and we had some great fun outside capturing that all important golden hour.
As we went back to the venue for a few last photos of the dance floor, the shots on trays were out and we knew it would lead in to an absolutely incredible party. Time for us to head home & crack on with editing.
Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your special day, team! (Oh, and ALWAYS bring your dogs)!
