If you’re planning a wedding at The Pumping House in Nottingham, you’ll find tons of inspo from this wedding!
Lauren and Dave got married at The Pumping House, which is a cool industrial, red brick venue in Nottingham with an industrial vibe and iconic chimney. It was the most beautiful wedding and even the weather played ball! Lauren and Dave know us at Claire and George’s wedding and booked us. Always the best compliment!
The vows
The ceremony was a legal ceremony surrounded by lots of original half moon windows and a moongate that Lauren made with her own fair hands. During the ceremony they each read their own vows. It was really beautiful. Afterwards, everyone threw fluttery paper confetti and these turned out to be some of our favourite photos – Confetti photos are always really good for ‘everyones smiling’ photos and lovely natural shots of you two.
They decorated the area with lovely faux flowers, which we loved, they looked so good! The reception was then in the main hall at The Pumping House, under a canopy of festoon lights – We loved this venue because it had so many great opportunities for portraits and candid photos looked good everywhere. Also, Weddings at The Pumping House are amazing, because the food is absolutely delicious. We all know thats an important part of weddings!
Why The Pumping House is a great place to get married
The Pumping House has a really vibrant atmosphere, and is one of the coolest places to get married in Nottingham. The venue offers onsite bedrooms so guests don’t have to leave early – and they’re so many incredible backdrops that are perfect for photos. We got a lot of photos in unexpected photos and they turned out to be some of our favourites. This place really pushed our creative juices to flow and it just shows you don’t have to have shot at a venue 50 times to get some good stuff. Book a photographer you trust and you’ll be alright.
The party
The couple had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a disco alongside pizza in the evening. Lauren and Dave were so laid back and this industrial wedding venue was an amazing backdrop for their chilled vibe. So many spots for cool photos with low key Wes Anderson and brutalist vibes. Divine. For dinner they had a ‘host the roast’ where guests were chosen to dress up and carve the meat, and speeches were followed with a bingo game in memory of grandparents. It was funny and emotional all the same! Their first dance was a romantic slow dance with lots of awesome spins that that dress was obviously MADE for. They finished off the evening with PIZZA!
