Summer Loving – The wedding of Gemma and Alistair Simmonds.

It’s a nice day for a…white wedding at the stunning Plum Park Manor for the special day of Gemma & Alistair.

The flowers were some of the most stunning we’ve ever seen with a colour palette of blues, oranges, reds and white. The blue tone of the flowers perfectly matched Gem’s shoes (which we’ll get to in a moment).

Dan got some shots of Plum Park itself picking up the little details like “The Wedding Post” containing all of the details of the couple’s timeline as well as the order of the day. We’ve seen a couple of these now and it’s so lovely to see. We adore reading the couple’s story of how you met, fell in love and the rest of your story. It’s our honour to capture the next chapter of your life.

Okay, back to the shoes. Sarah spied the Harriet Wilde shoes immediately and started snapping away. The pale blue, suede heels complete with large bow at the back of the heel were absolutely the talk of the day. Sarah captured other details of the day for the couple to look back on with fondness. This included the rings in a matching blue, velvet ring box and her signature scent; Daisy by Marc Jacobs.

Time to get to work with Gemma! Gemma was donning her best silk pyjamas and was putting the finishing touches to her and her bridal squad who were also wearing matching jammies. We love the chilled vibes bride tribes bring these days.

Dan was over with Ali and the boys who were at the venue, ready to roll. Ali looked relaxed so we took the time to take some photos of the groom and his father and the groom’s party outside.

Gem continued to get ready and the energy was rising as the girls got in to their dresses. Time for Gem to get in to hers! We love watching bride’s put their dresses on with such pride as they come to realise it’s nearly their moment to shine. With a little help from mum including our favourite moment to capture; mum putting jewellery on their daughter, we got some stunning snaps of Gemma on her own. She was beaming from ear to ear and it was truly an incredible moment to capture. Gem’s Dad’s first look and looked proud as punch and well, for the bridesmaids, there were tears, there was laughter, elation and shock. Time to get these two married!

The guests were arriving and completing the fun crossword the couple had created which had the words ‘sip and solve’ on – a great, engaging way to entice the guests in.

Gemma walked down the aisle with grace and decorum and met the love of her life, Ali at the top. They were both giddy throughout the ceremony and it was all over before we knew it. “You may now kiss the bride.” There was plenty of cheers, whooping and cheering as the newlyweds walked out.

We took the time to capture a really intimate moment of Gem and Ali’s wedding; reading hand written letters to each other. A lovely moment to be a part of and to take photos of.

Back to the guests and it was confetti time. Gem and Ali opted for small, brightly coloured circles of confetti and WOW did they stand out!

Time to get the newlywed in all of their newlywed glory. We took Gem and Ali out and about to capture their happiness and some great family group shots too.

Guests were enjoying some drinks in the August sunshine and we followed the couple taking some really beautiful couple shots; the ones you’d like printed and hung up on your wall. We love to take candid shots, it’s just how we are. You can read about this on our approach page.

Reception time; introducing the new Mr and Mrs Simmonds. The food was amazing, the speeches were on point and then it was time for some Summer sunshine and garden games!

We snuck back off with Gem & Ali to capture them in all of their glory, followed by cutting the cake and their first dance.

The dance floor was soon filled with guests dancing the night away and we even caught Gemma take a sneaky cocktail onto the floor looking very happy with herself.

An amazing day for an amazing couple. Cheers!
