If you love a good party then you’ll find so much inspiration from this outdoor marquee wedding!
Bethan and Tom got married outdoor at the gorgeous Eggington House, Bedford. It was a stunning outdoor wedding, with beautiful forest decor creating the atmosphere, a bus arrival, and fun goody bags to keep guests entertained through the ceremony.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in a woodland clearing, and was decorated with flowers and an intricate arch, which was lovely. The ceremony included the couple reading their own vows, a gospel choir, their friend as an officiant, and Bonnie, their dog bringing the rings as a surprise! It was a moving occasion, full of excited hand squeezes and a few teary eyes. Theres something really special about more personalised ceremonies – So much better than registrars, let us tell you!
After the ceremony, guests mingled in the garden behind Eggington house, which was the perfect time for us to get candid photos, and then slip away into the shade for some really special photos of the couple. The weather at this outdoor wedding was easily the HOTTEST day of the year, but that didn’t put a dampener on moods and everyone was topping up their tan.
The outdoor wedding
The reception was held in a marquee. The venue is perfect for weddings because it has so many options, and it’s got such a modern vibe, especially in the evenings when the candles and fairy lights are glowing.
For the reception, the couple had organised delicious canapes for their guests, and everyone had such a great time as Dean the magician mingled amongst everyone with gentle live music in the background. Guests were then called for the wedding breakfast, which was a meat feast – it was delicious.
The party
After the speeches, Bethan chucked her bouquet, then they cut the cake outdoors and the party got started. The live band played all the best songs to get everyone dancing. Amazing band, fully recommend Detroit Soul Collective to everyone that asks now! Tom also got roped into singing a song – Robbie Williams, Angels. It was amazing, totally spontaneous and everyone was singing along!
The evening carried on with garden games as the sun went down, dancing under the festoon lights, and ended with sparklers. So much fun, and everyone had a great time. The whole outdoor wedding had such a fun atmosphere, from the woodland ceremony with emotional and personalised vows, to the awesome live band kicking things off at the end.
Advice from the couple
“Enjoy the planning process and don’t get stressed. Work out what your top priorities are and make sure you get the best suppliers for the job – our 3 non-negotiables were our photographers, the food and the band. The rest will fall into place.
The key is to be organised. We are a fan of the little details, and lots of guests at our wedding picked up on these. From the baskets of helpful bits and bobs in the toilets, to the matching gems we stuck on every menu, order of service or sign around the venue to the wall of photos where everyone could ‘find their face’. It’s a day for you both, but it’s also such a fun day with everyone you care about. Make it memorable for all!
Lastly, be creative. Everyone has different tastes, so don’t feel you have to follow the herd. On the day itself I realised my garter was visible through my dress, so I put my creative hat on and ended up spending the day with it wrapped around my ankle. Being relaxed and creative makes the wedding process and day even more fun.”
Testimonial
“We had seen Two-D Photography at other weddings and had met them at various wedding fairs, so we knew that we had to get them booked in before anything else! Both Sarah and Dan have been a dream along the way and were so fun and helpful on the day itself. We are in love with our pictures and video and they captured the day so perfectly.” “Oh my gosh. These videos are amaaaaaaaazing. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. You guys are the best at what you do!”
We loved this outdoor marquee wedding so much, Bethan and Tom were just the icing on the cake – Utter legends! If you’re getting married and looking for a wedding photographer and videographer, get in touch and see if we’re free 🙂
