If you’re planning a wedding at Micklefield Hall in Rickmansworth, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!
Lucy and Alex got married at their local Baptist Church, which is a small, intimate in with lots of connections to their family, for a real personal touch. We then shimmied on over to the most beautiful barn venue, Micklefield Hall. Their day was such a happy day and even the weather played ball (mostly).
The ceremony
During the ceremony, Lucy and Alex had their own friends and family perform music for them, and a couple of readings too. It was lovely and intimate, and was a real tear-jerker!
They decorated the church with flowers and bunting, which I loved, and we all stuck around for tea and cake afterwards. Why is this not a *thing* for church weddings? It’s amazing! Their reception was at the lovely aforementioned Micklefield Hall – It was our first time here, but we fell in love immediately. Micklefield Hall has so many great opportunities for portraits, and theres even an option for outside ceremonies around the fountain amongst the most beautiful gardens. It’s just epic. Oh, and the food is pretty banging!
The afternoon
These guys had a drinks reception in the afternoon with more live brass music, and switched to a DJ for music in the evening. This live brass band (with family members in it) played throughout the drinks reception, amongst fun garden games and an open fire, which leaned into the most epic entrance for our bride and groom after a set. It really got the party going before we even ate! For dinner they had proper wedding grub, and the first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dancefloor to get the dancing going. They finished off the evening with sparklers which of course, is always a winner.
The couple
Lucy wore a classic white dress with bang-on-trend hollywood waves, and Alex wore a lovely three-piece grey suit. They looked really dapper. Lucy wore a pop of colour with bright pink glitter shoes which ended up matching the table decorations with a pop of pink with a candle. Always a lover of a colour pop!
