There’s something undeniably magical about a summer wedding. The golden glow of the sun, the gentle warmth of the season itself, and the vibrant blooms in full display set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of love. And that was SO true of the wedding of Katie & Kane.
Sarah was across with the bridal squad who were busy getting ready and as you know, we love a flat lay capturing the details of the day. Kate had chosen her signature scent of Emporio Armani, a gorgeous Tiffany & Co necklace, a diamente hairclip and this seasons must have accessory – white heart shaped sunglasses with writing on the lenses.
Kate decided to rock a pair of white high-top converse and we’re here for it! We’ve seen just how uncomfortable brides can be wearing heels all day, so we love the fact that flat shoes seems to be the new trend!
We caught a glimpse of Kate’s dress and adored it even more when we found out it was her Mum’s dress that had been modified and altered by the wonderful Sophie Hardwick at Rose Bridal Boutique in Kempston. A super special dress for a super special day and something we only hear about a handful of times.
Kate’s bouquet was a stunning array of white roses surrounded by eucalyptus and gypsophila.
The Bride squad (and yes, they had matching pyjamas on) were busy getting ready with the incredible team from Natalie Wood Hair & Make up. There were smiles all round and a sense of a chilled bridal team at the manor.
Dan was over with the lads who were eating a quick bacon sarnie at the same time as prepping for the big day. Kane looked sauve in his three piece, grey suit with pale green tie, matching the bridesmaids dresses.
We cam across the gorgeous wooden ring box that Katie & Kane had chosen which, once opened, had a picture of their two cats in it! Oh, and of course the rings.
Back to the girls who were having the final touches complete as the guests were arriving beneath them. We had time for a few of the lads group shots who all looked incredible in matching grey three piece suits!
We’re good to go! But not before we hurried the bridesmaids along as well as the Mother of the Bride and Katie herself. Someone’s knocking at the door and it’s Dad! We adore catching the first look between Father and Daughter; a truly special moment of someone’s lives and it’s there to be treasured forever as we capture it. Katie walked down the stairs and there were cheers and tears of joy from the bridesmaids who had a look at her in all of her glory.
We don’t often seen this at weddings, but it was a really intimate and lovely moment to capture and that was Katie and Kane reading a letter to each other before getting married. They were back to back so they didn’t see each other, but were able to reach around the wall of the Rickety Barn and hold hands. It was hard to keep emotions in and was a really touching moment before they said ‘I Do’.
All fired up and raring to go, Kane walked to the front of the aisle and was shortly joined by his lovely wife to be.
The ceremony was lovely, the readings were idyllic and the round of applause at the end was highly memorable!
Introducing, the new Mr & Mrs Witton! There was just enough time for a quick celebratory drink for the couple before the confetti line and then us whisking them away for some epic group shots (with some fun ones thrown in of course).
We left the groups to mingle with the guests and we took Katie & Kane around the grounds of Bassmead to capture some lovely couples shots. We love these shots because we love to be candid. We let the couples walk around and do their thing and we shoot away (mainly with Dan making them laugh with his terrible jokes)! It’s all part of our approach which you can read about here.
Time for the speeches which included a lot of emotion, tears of joy and laughter and a lot of appreciation for everyone in their lives, past and present.
Time for a quick round of YMCA (why not) to get everyone on their feet, followed by a round of shots and then back outside to capture the gang in golden hour.
First up, the girls with their epic sunglasses and then the lads turn with their equally as radical glasses on. A must have for weddings this year it seems!
We snuck the newlyweds off for another walk around capturing the golden sunlight pouring in the background and then it was time to dance the night away.
Another Bassmead banger for sure! Thank you, Katie & Kane.
