If you’re planning a wedding at Grangefields in Derbyshire, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!
Claire and George got married at one of the Cripps group venues: Grangefields, which is a quirky barn in Derbyshire with countryside views. It was such a fun wedding and even the weather played ball!
The wedding
The ceremony was a beaut candlelit ceremony in the brick barn of Grangefields. It was warm, cosy and just bloomin’ beautiful. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was a real tear-jerker.
They decorated the area with flowers and SO many candles. Not many barn venues allow open flame, but it really adds to the atmosphere. The reception was absolutely epic at Grangefields – We love ALL of the Cripps’ venues because the food is absolutely outstanding. Weddings at Grangefields, or any Cripps venues are always amazing, because the staff are just incredible and the attention to detail throughout the day is just top.
Why Grangefields is a great place to get married
Grangefields has a really vibrant atmosphere, and is easily one of the coolest places to get married in Derbyshire. The venue offers top-class catering (do I need to mention the food one more time or), it is full of different textures and vibes to stroll through and photograph – and there is a perfect field at sunset that’s perfect for photos and 5 minutes to yourselves.
The party
George and Claire had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and kick ass dj in the evening after chilling round the fire pits. For dinner they had the most incredible food courtesy of Cripps Grangefields (Will shut up about the food now) and the first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle. They finished off the evening with a sparkler exit which is always quite nice!
The couple
Well first off, George is a wicked graphic designer and all of the signage, invites etc that you see were designed by the groom himself. They’re perfect, right? They filled the place with the most stunning open toffee roses (one of my fave florists instantly upon meeting). Claire wore a classic white dress and George wore a three-piece suit and they looked really perfect. Little attention to detail was George’s waistcoat perfectly matching those toffee roses!
