A vintage style Buckinghamshire Railway Centre Wedding
Dan has played Ice Hockey alongside Danny for a while, so to be asked to shoot their wedding at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre was quite the honour! This was our first time shooting at the Railway Centre, and a venue we definitely want to be back at – Just look at it!
Every so often we come across a venue that has us kicking ourselves. We got married in 2016 and we were sure that we’d seen it all. In reality that obviously isn’t the case. Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is really something else, and being honest, we’d probably have got married here! With high glass ceilings, floods of lights, loads of quirky trains (including one that Winston Churchill rode), the place is just so interesting and fun.
Of course, its not all about the venue. We often get asked what our favourite venues are, and whilst we love quirky wedding venues such as this one; its the couple that make it. Candice was excited all morning, and Danny obviously couldn’t wait either. They spent the whole day holding hands, stealing kisses and having a laugh with their loved ones. Thats someone everyone wants from their big day, right?
And then after the wedding…
After the ceremony we all headed over to one of the old train platforms for a run of confetti. Then we had a ride on the steam train, pretending we were in Harry Potter perhaps? We wandered between loads of stationed trains whilst eating doughnuts and drinking milkshake, shooting away.
After ‘cocktail/milkshake’ hour, everyone sat down for afternoon tea, as the sun slowly came down overhead. The tables were adorned with handmade disney drawings, and after noticing that initial Disney nod, we realised how it all fit together. There was a blue clock at midnight by the entrance, the gold pumpkins, and the birds on top of the cake – All Disney’s Cinderella. So well thought out and perfectly tied in to the whole vintage feel.
The evening was led by vintage singers after Candice changed into her second wedding dress, a 50’s number with swing potential. Win win all round! Danny and Candice, you two are just pure delights – We wish you all the very best for your future, truly!
