A wedding of TWO halves; Jessica & Ashley

Back in March, we headed across to favourite wedding, Bassmead Manor for the stunning wedding of Jessica and Ashley.

We knew this wedding would be ALL about the DETAILS as soon as we got to site as we came across a wooden board that had “To all the love stories that came before us – thank you for showing us the way” written on it, displaying their ancestors photos and descriptions of their love stories. We haven’t seen this before at a wedding and thought it was a really sweet touch.

We love to shoot intricate and intimate shots at wedding and this one did not disappoint. Welcome to the wedding of Ashley and Jessica, where we had outfit changes, personalised pizza boxes, a night under the stars and so much more.

Jessica had two dresses; the first, a traditional Hindu dress in a stunning maroon colour with intricate gold detailing and the second, a gorgeous puffed dress with detailed lace straps. Because there’s two of us, Sarah stepped in to get ready with the girls and the glam squad were busy! Jessica had her hair done at the same time as having stunning henna on her hands. The morning was full of electric energy as the bridal party got ready.

Dan was over with Ashley who was ensuring the venue was ready and raring to go before getting ready himself, Mum and sisters on hand to dress him in his stunning, cream suit.

The girls had silky cream pyjamas on whilst getting their hair and make up done, so we took some snaps of that and then it was time to get dressed.

Jessica looked breathtaking in her dress complete with henna and traditional style jewellery as did Ashley. The array of colours was simply marvellous and we adored capturing the brightness of it all.

Ashley was welcomed to their blessing with drums and flares; the party celebrations had well and truly started and then it was time for Jessica to arrive, but not before a quick chance to get a photo of the bridal squad, capturing their gorgeous energy before it was time for Jess to meet her groom.

Ashley waited nervously, but it was all smiles as soon as he caught her eye. The ceremony was held outside and was perhaps a little chillier than we’re used to but it didn’t take anything away from the beautiful blessing.

Blessing complete and it was time to get the group shots, so we stayed outside to capture the main groups as other guests headed back into the venue for a well-deserved glass of Bucks Fizz.

We snuck off to get some photos of Jess and Ashley as we walked the grounds of Bassmead to capture some of the most stunning photos we have ever taken. The vibrant colours stood out amongst the backdrop of Bassmead beautifully and brightened up the grey skies that had hung around.

Time to head back and celebrate with the guests as well as time for quick costume changes for both the bridal and the groom parties. Suited and booted, we took the boys outside to have their group shots whilst Jessica continued to get ready.

We’re not sure we’ve ever shot a wedding with both bride AND groom having an outfit change, but we’re here for it – it really was like having two weddings in one!

Bride and Groom ready and it was time for “that” moment – the first look from Dad who welled up immediately after taking one look at his beautiful daughter. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were wearing a gorgeous royal blue colour which matched the flowers in their bouquets.

Time for the civil ceremony and lots of tears were shed as the couple exchanged their rings and vows.

Confetti shots are always our favourite as they really bring out the competitive side of the guests and capture the fun and essence of joy from the bride and groom. We’re all about having fun and nailing those candid shots, which you can find more about in our approach section of our website.

Moving inside and the barn was decorated beautifully with tables having simple décor of flowers in jars and table names named after countries they couple had visited plus a game of I Spy to keep guests entertained. They even had a sweet jar filled to the brim with their favourite sweets – what a pair of sweeties!

The couple chose a two tier, naked sponge cake – a must have for this year’s wedding we think! The cake was decorated with a couple of sunflowers and brightly coloured roses from Buds 2 Bloom, matching the theme of the day.

What’s a wedding photoshoot without your dog? A poor one we say! If you’ve got a four-legged friend, get them involved! We LOVE meeting your pals and they love being part of the day too. We took it outside to capture the family shots and we’re PAW-sitive that Jessica and Ashley will love them just as much as we do.

We wandered outside for some final shots of the couple and it was one of the clearest nights we’ve ever seen so we took the couple outside to shoot under the stars and wow, we were not disappointed.

With personalised pizza boxes at the ready, guests were firmly tucking in to their dinner. The couple’s first dance was electric, the floor was then filled and it was time for us to head home, but not before capturing some EPIC dance moves on film!

This was such a joyful day and one filled with high energy, bright colours and good vibes.
