A Summer wedding of dreams at The Milling Barn – The wedding of Mr & Mrs Rosen

We adore capturing memories that will last forever and this wedding was no different. Welcoming the wedding of Leah and James in August 2024 at the stunning location of The Milling Barn.

We knew this couple were music obsessed from the moment we walked in to the venue, with their seating plan tables named after classic Beatles songs.

Their guest book was a vinyl and all tables had the name of the song as the table topper printed out in acrylic – a great way to showcase them.

Sarah was over in the dressing room where the bride and her team were busily getting ready ahead of the biggest day of Leah’s life. We instantly noticed Leah’s stunning dress as well as the bridesmaids gorgeous, rich, burnt orange dresses – a trend we’ve seen and LOVED this year.

Leah was in the hot seat having her hair and make up done as the others patiently waited their turn. Sarah took her time to seek out the details of the day, a moment we love in the day. We know the day is all about you as a couple and capturing the special moments, but we also capture the details of the day – you spend so long thinking of the small stuff (and more often than not, sweating it) so we want to capture it so you can remember it for years to come. This is just a small part of our approach, you can read more about that here.

Dan was over with James and his party who were chilled and taking their time to get ready. The boys got suited and booted

The ring bearer presented us with their rings which were in a stunning wooden, circle box with their names engraved on it and the date of their wedding. Another lovely little touch for the couple.

Time for tears! Leah handed her bridal squad hand written letters with gorgeous, heart felt words in. A moment we loved capturing for sure.

We captured the girls in their silk pyjamas ahead of them getting in to their dresses and we managed to also capture James and his team in their luxury, navy striped suits with matching burnt orange ties to the girls. James was rocking a bow tie – epic! They had small posies containing sunflowers – the ultimate Summer wedding accessory.

The guests were arriving  so the team were out to greet them all with plenty of smiles and bags of energy.

It was time to get Leah in to her dress and what a stunning one it was! She opted for a long dress with a detailed, lace and beaded top and long, flowing, dainty veil. She looked incredible. We took some snaps of the bridesmaids in the room, some more posed, some candid and then it was time for Dad to have a look. We love capturing Dads – the look in their eyes as soon as they clock eyes with their daughters is truly a moment we treasure forever. And what better way than to capture it with a camera for a lifetime?

Time for the big moment. Leah floated across the car on the hot Summer’s day, ready to marry the love of her life. James looked a little nervous, but also full of excitement.

Leah walked in to a standing audience with her hubby-to-be at the top of the alter ready and GRINNING. It was safe to say they were estatic to see each other.

The ceremony was stunning and heart-felt and now it was time to celebrate!

We shot the classic confetti pictures – an age old tradition that we love and then it was time to capture the bridal squad in all their fun and glory. The guests were enjoying themselves in the sunshine, with canapés and music performed by Sam Lewis.

We snuck the couple away to capture more intimate shots of the newlyweds, by walking them around the lovely grounds of The Milling Barn. We captured them in the beaming sunlight, the shadows it created and captured all the angles (a geeky bit Sarah gets VERY excited about).

It was time to head back to the venue for the wedding reception and a huge, ruckus round of applause met us there.

A toast; to the new Mr & Mrs Rosen. The speeches were lovely, full of emotion and plenty of laughs across the room too.

Golden hour called (we’re always amazed by how quickly the days fly by) and so we took the couple back out to capture its gorgeous essence, providing the bride and groom with over 900 images to reflect back on year after year.

We loved capturing the Rosen’s big day and we can’t wait to capture yours! Get in touch if you’d like us to be your wedding photographers in 2025…
