One of the last wedding’s of the Summer belonged to the wonderful couple of Jade & Jamie. We were supposed to shoot their wedding back in the Summer of ’23, but delays to the property (quite literally) meant the pair took a year to have their desired venue exactly the way they wanted in – In their very own purpose built barn on their home land and flower farm.
The ceremony itself was held at All Saints Church in Houghton Conquest, a stunning rural village church just down the road from the couple’s home. We actually live super close to the church, and Sarah knew Jamie and Jade from school, so it felt extra special and intimate.
A short horse and cart ride across to the house and we were ready for the reception and celebrations. Jade herself is a florist, owner of Limbersay Lane Flowers, so it was bound to be an explosion of loveliness when it came to the florals, all home grown. With a little help from Floral Roots, Rambling Stems and Golden Hare Gallery, this was a spectacle not to be missed.
There was an air of premium DIY about the entire day, considering most of it was spent in their home itself. The signs were made of rustic wood and old barn doors, the LED lights on the elevated feeding ring, all of the garden games and Photo Booth, just incredible and we couldn’t believe they got it all done themselves!
The fun and games continued all day with a “peg me” and we LOVED THIS and will recommend it to everyone, forever. Basically, to pass the time with a bit of cheekiness, this little game is perfect. You will need to work as a team to complete your aim of sticking a peg on someone unknown. It could be to down a shot, down your drink, or in this case wear a ‘I’ve been pegged’ sign. Hilarious, and got everyone mingling nicely!
We adore animals/dogs (we have our own two golden retrievers) and so we know they are a huge part of the family. We’re super chilled about involving ALL family members in photos, so please never about that! We took some photos with Jade and Jamies dogs, and with Jade’s oldest and most beloved horse. This felt super special.
Hungry? (Ha, I always am). Jamie and Jade had not ONE, not TWO, but THREE epic food suppliers as part of their big day. If you’re local to Bedfordshire you’ll be well aware of local heroes Chicken George, Fold Me Close and Raw Boys Oysters. Absolute spiffing choice guys.
This day was one we won’t forget for a very long time. If you’re looking for a way to DIY it, THIS is the way.
