Lucy and Callum – the most excited couple we’ve ever met. Who would have thought that signing wedding official papers could make you that excited?!
We were back over at the incredible Bassmead Manor Barns to capture the best day of Lucy & Callum’s lives and wow, did we have a great time doing so.
Dream team Charlotte Heather Bridal Hair and Chloe Eleanor make up were in the house getting the bridal squad ready and Sarah was loving life soaking up the atmosphere & taking photos that will last a lifetime, especially those emotive ones of Lucy reading cards and notes from her loved ones. We hope it was waterproof mascara that Chloe provided her with!
We witnessed some of the best flower arrangements we’ve ever seen from Sophie May Floral including the bridal bouquets which were an arrangement of pale pink roses, dahlias and scattered with wild daisies. So dreamy!
Dan was with the groom squad who were relaxed and chilled. Suits? Check. Rings? Check. Dapper? Check.
The couple opted for a pale blue theme which was reflected not only in the bridesmaids dresses but also in their getting ready outfits consisting of silk dressing gowns; a must have for any bridal party these days.
The guests had started to arrive in their masses on this stunningly beautiful August day and it was time for Lucy to get in her dress. She opted for a sleeveless, long busty dress with sheer and lace detail on the shoulders and a stunning single buttoned line down the back. A true vision of beauty we think everyone will agree. Veil firmly on, last minute glam check and it was time for Lucy to walk down the aisle to meet the love of her life.
But not before a quick check in with Dad who had the best reaction (see the photos below)!
A quick few snaps of the Dad and bridesmaid reveal and we were ready to head across to the barn where Callum and his team were patiently waiting.
Emotion, elation, pride and sheer happiness were the emotions running in the room when Lucy met Callum at the top of the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
Rings exchanged, vows taken, time to celebrate. The new Mr & Mrs MacKenzie.
A quick glass of champagne and a walk around the lovely grounds of Bassmead to ensure we captured some of the best shots of the just newlyweds, followed by the all important confetti shots.
Time for a couple of group shots before canapés and dinner and we had SO much fun with the bridal party who were all up for a laugh, meaning our pictures came out incredibly. We love a candid shot and we really do bring the fun to the party; you can read all about it in our about us section on our website.
We whisked Lucy and Callum away for some more intimate shots around the grounds whilst guests were being entertained by Cara Beard Music and playing garden games; a must have for weddings.
We popped inside and loved the finer details including little personalised cookies embossed with the couple’s name and date of their wedding on. We loved the light up letters, not only on top of the top table but also on the dancefloor ready for later.
Their cake from Ambers Cakes and Bakes was a lovely three-tiered sponge with fresh flowers scattered around it and a blue ribbon to match the couple’s theme.
The speeches were lovely, heart-felt and amusing (as all good speeches should be) and yes, even Lucy stood up to talk – a trend we’ve seen in recent years and ADORE.
A quick game of hook the duck (another classic crowd entertainer) from Rustic and Vintage Carts and Props and it was time to take Lucy and Callum away again to get those all important couple shots. We adore the cornfields behind Bassmead so always go for a casual stroll to get the best out of the early evening light.
Time to head back to the dance floor, where the room was complete with light up letters from Light Up Love Mr & Mrs McKenzie cut their cake and then danced the night away.
