Another brilliant wedding at the delicious Dodford Manor. This time for Katie and Joe Souter.
Joe was already looking suave by the time we got there, with his personalised cufflinks – a lovely touch for the day. The groom and groomsman wore navy blue jackets with a grey waistcoat and a soft mint coloured tie.
Over at Dodford Grange, Katie was getting ready. She had opted for a long dress, with plenty of lace detail and a pair of stunning, crisp, box fresh white trainers. A girl after our own hearts.
Curlers at the ready, the girls were getting ready in personalised silk gowns and Katie even had personalised slippers – we love the thought that goes in to the whole day, not just the moments that the guests see.
May is a great time of year as it’s guaranteed warmer weather and although the sun wasn’t shining just yet, it was bright enough for the accessory of the Summer; sunglasses.
All glammed up, Katie was almost ready and the boys were waiting patiently for the guests to arrive with a quick beer and time for some smaller group shots. Nerves were kept at bay as Dan kept the laughter going whilst the boys sipped from their hipflasks.
The girls helped with the last few touches of Katie’s outfit before it was time to go. Emotions were high, but the girls kept it together as they prepared to leave for their big day, but not before a gorgeous gift from Katie’s mum. A “something blue” in the form of a handkerchief, embroidered in blue writing from her Mum & Dad.
We had some time to get some snaps of Katie with her nearest and dearest and it was time to head to the venue to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs Souter.
The guests were arriving and it was time for Katie’s Dad to see his little girl in her wedding dress, ready for the biggest day of her life. Happy tears filled the garden and we got some really lovely, intimate shots of Katie, her Mum and her Dad, ones that will last a lifetime. We love knowing that the photos we take, will be printed and on people’s walls of their homes, forever.
The bridesmaids appeared in their gorgeous matching, soft mint coloured dresses and were ready to escort Katie to her wedding day. Each bridesmaid had a really simple, but stunning bunch of gypsophilia.
We checked in with Joe and took a look at the gorgeous Dodford Manor in all its glory. A circle stand with little flowers were at the end of the aisle; a lovely touch to add a bit of pazaz to the ceremony.
A sign we ADORE – an Unplugged ceremony, asking guests to enjoy the wedding and turn off their phones. After all, they hired US to do the good stuff!
Glass of champagne and final touch ups and it was time for Katie to walk down the aisle. Each bridesmaid took it in turn, each with the look in their eyes to say “wait until you see her”, already aware of how lovely she looked.
Meeting at the aisle, Joe and Katie’s chemistry was seamless, it was no wonder they were getting hitched. Their personal and intimate vows had everyone in floods of tears and it was a huge celebration when they said I DO.
Confetti throwing in the aisle is one of our favourite images to capture, straight after the woops and cheers of celebrating the newlyweds, allowing all of the energy to be kept in the room.
We took a moment to go outside and capture the newly married couple in all of their glory in the beautiful setting of Dodford Manor. The bright blue skies appeared, as did the sun, allowing us to capture some really lovely afternoon shots.
Back to the courtyard for some group shots and the sun was shining gloriously. Garden games are always a hit at weddings when there can sometimes be some standing around and this was no different. The children (and big kids) were enjoying a game of Giant Jenga and mini golf whilst the venue was turned around for the wedding breakfast.
Katie, Joe and their wedding party were NOT shy when it came to getting in front of the camera for their group shots and the colours of the bridal party’s outfits were popping!
As the evening drew closer, we snuck Joe and Katie off for some more couple shots. The grounds of Dodford are perfect to capture both candid and planned shots, walking through the blooming gardens and around the stone buildings.
Time to head back in for the wedding breakfast and it was our first glimpse at the cake. A three tiered wonder with each tier representing a scene from their actual engagement including silhouettes of the couple (and their dogs!)
We welcomed in the new Mr and Mrs Souter and it was straight onto the speeches which were a LOT of fun.
Anyone for a spot of golf? Joe and Katie took it back outside to shoot their shots and get some more couple snaps. The sun just peeped through the clouds so we got some epic golden hour shots. A few farmyard friends came to join us and we took to the farm to get some pictures in front of the sheep whilst the guests were continuing to enjoy the games including ten-pin-bowling.
The day went by so fast and it was time for the first dance which soon turned into all couples entering the dance floor. The energy was electric and we left Dodford on a real high.
